Texas Mixed Salad
Texas Version of a mixed salad, or a Texas Mixed Salad is all that is right and good in the world. Mixed Salad image shows a big plate full of BBQ meat. The way I see it, had there been 8 days in the beginning, one would have been “…and then God created Texas BBQ, and He saw that it was good…”
@always.hungryto Tex-Mex Salad 🌮🥗 This fresh and delicious salad has been a staple for my family every summer! Ingredients: 1 pound ground meat 1 packet taco seasoning (or make your own) 2 medium tomatoes 1 medium red onion 2 ribs of celery 2 medium peppers (any color works) 1/2 pickled jalapeños 2 ripe avocados 1 romaine heart 1 cup cilantro, chopped 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 can of red kidney beans or black beans, drained and rinsed 1.5 cups of corn kernels 10-15 tortilla chips 1/2 cup Italian dressing 1/2 cup Catalina dressing Directions: 1. In a large pot or dutch oven, brown your meat and add in your seasoning blend. Set aside to cool. 2. While your beef cools, chop all your vegetables into evenly diced pieces. Chop the cilantro and romaine. 3. Once the beef is cooled, combine all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl EXCEPT the tortilla chips – this will ensure that they stay crunchy when you serve. 4. Finally once everything is well mixed, add in your cheese and chips, and mix one final time. Serve as a side dish or as a meal!
