Let the pros handle it, there’s a whole industry filled with people who are good at this stuff, it’s called the greeting card industry. They have people who actually get paid to come up with heart wrenching and sometimes humorous tidbits so that we don’t have to. Necessity is the mother of invention, use it. Besides, your poem will suck and she’ll politely say she loves it, all the while snickering. And if it good, then why aren’t you working for hallmark?
